From the description of the work at the exhibition "ODKSZTAŁCENIE / DEFORMATION / UNLEARNING":
During the renovation of the building of the Vitebsk People’s Art School, Beat the Whites with the Red Wedge!, the famous work by El Lissitzky which he created in Vitebsk, was reproduced on the floor of granite and marble in the hall of the school. Sergey Shabohin superimposed technical photos taken during the renovation by museum director Andrey Dukhovnikov with the classic suprematist composition from his Social Marble series. The Patches series thus criticizes the kitschy unprofessional approach to the reconstruction of the building and the attempts to close historical gaps with decorative palimpsests.
