Non-state university founded in Minsk in 1992. After closing in 2004 in Belarus, it continues its work in Vilnius.
EHU offers educational opportunities for bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs, promotes scientific activity in the field of humanities and social sciences.
Learning programs:
– theory and practice of contemporary art (since autumn 2013, admission to this program is no longer carried out);
– visual design and media;
– Belarusian Studies, History of Belarus and Cultural Anthropology; (set is not carried out);
– political science and European studies; (set is not carried out);
– international law and the law of the European Union;
– social and political philosophy; (set is not carried out)
– media and communications (specializations: new media, visual culture and creative media);
– cultural heritage and tourism;
- sociology.
Classes are held in Belarusian, Lithuanian, English, Russian and other languages, depending on the characteristics of the training course, the preparedness of the audience and the teacher.
Research centers. Research centers opened at YSU are important for contemporary art:
– Center for the study of contemporary art;
– laboratory of visual and cultural studies;
– Center for Gender Studies;
– laboratory of critical urbanism.

YSU Publishing House:
– Philosophical and cultural journal “Topos” has been published since 2000. He explores concepts at the intersection of philosophy and cultural studies using various theoretical and methodological approaches to the analysis of current problems in the field of humanities, social and cultural sciences. The journal is published in several languages with a frequency of three issues per year. It is included in the international database The Philosopher's Index and EBSCO-CEEAS (Central & Eastern European Academic Source) ;
– Scientific quarterly journal “Crossroads” has been published by YSU Center for Advanced Studies and Education (CASE) since 2004. It serves as a multidisciplinary platform for the study of political and socio-cultural issues in the Central and Eastern European region. "Crossroads" is a unique publication that publishes materials on innovative research strategies of interdisciplinary and interregional focus;
– Crossroads Digest ( “Crossroads: Digest” ) is a selection of articles previously published in Russian in the quarterly magazine “Crossroads” . The quarterly journal "Perekrestki" is a transdisciplinary scientific journal dedicated to the topic of political, social and cultural transformations in the region of the Eastern European Borderland (Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine). The main objectives of the publication are: to promote the conceptual and methodological renewal of scientific research in the region, to initiate an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary dialogue, and to support the presentation of regional, national and local scientific schools and traditions;

The university was founded in Minsk. At this time, a gallery was also opened at the university. It is the first Belarusian educational institution where centers of visual cultural and gender studies were created. Later, an urban research center was also opened.
