Doctoral student at Charles University in Prague Elizaveta Kovtyak is trying to understand how Belarus is exoticized in art. Kowtyak examines two photographic projects by Lithuanian-American Andrew Mikszys and Pole Rafal Milach, based on field trips to Belarus. The author also gives examples of understanding the Belarusian flavor in local art, referring to the works of Zhanna Kapustnikova and Masha Svyatogor.
