He entered the Penza Art College, but soon left it.
1921
He began to take an active part in exhibitions of various levels from regional to all-Union.
1930
Graduated from the Moscow Art and Technology Institute .
1931–1940
He taught at the Vitebsk Art College.
1930s
He painted the paintings "Coming of the Reds to Minsk", "Osintorf". In the post-war period, he created a painting in the foyer of the theaters of the young spectator and the opera house in the hall of the Belarusian Association of the Cultural Union in Minsk.
1938
With a group of like-minded people , he organized the Belarusian Union of Artists (BSH). For some time he was its chairman.
1948–1953
He taught at the Minsk Art College .
1949
He received the title of People's Artist of the BSSR (now the Republic of Belarus).
1953–1963
He taught at the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute (now the Belarusian National Technical University), where he headed the department of fine arts.
1963
He headed the chair of easel painting at the Belarusian State Art Institute (now the Belarusian State Academy of Arts).
March 9, 1971
Died in Minsk.
