Born in Petrograd (Russian Empire, now St. Petersburg, Russian Federation).
1921
The artist's family moved to Orsha (Republic of Belarus).
1933-1937
He studied at the Vitebsk Art College. Along with painting and drawing, he successfully mastered art modeling, which later led to the final professional choice - the creation of sculptural compositions.
1940
The first exhibition as a sculptor took place. Simultaneously with this event, there was a move to Minsk. With the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, he went as a private to the front, in anti-tank artillery.
1946
Returned to Minsk.
1950
He took part in the design of the Belarusian pavilion in Moscow at the VDNKh of the USSR , for which the sculptural composition "Labor Belarus" and the figure of the Soviet partisan, Hero of the Great Patriotic War Zaslonov were created.
1955
For a significant contribution to Belarusian culture, he was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the BSSR.
1963
Was awarded the title of People's Artist of the BSSR.
1965-1969
Together with architects Yuri Gradov, Valentin Zankovich and Leonid Levin, he worked on the creation of the Invincible Man monument in the Khatyn memorial complex.
1970
For the creation of the monument in Khatyn, he was the first Belarusian artist to be awarded the Lenin Prize .
September 28, 1976
Died in Minsk.
