January 23th, 1833

Born into a poor gentry family on the estate of Uborka, Igumen district, Minsk province (Russian Empire, now Berezinsky district, Minsk region).

The artist began his education in the Brest-Litovsk Cadet Corps.

1850

He was enrolled in the Imperial Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg as a volunteer with the appointment of a scholarship (by order of Alexander II).

1852—1854

During the course , he was awarded with awards: silver and gold medals for his landscapes.

1855

The artist returned to his homeland. Lived in Uborki.

1856

The artist met Pavel Tretyakov. There is evidence that when forming his collection, Tretyakov used the advice of Goravsky.

1858

The artist went to Western Europe through Prussia, France, Switzerland, Italy. During the trip, he studied in the workshops of famous European landscape painters.

1861

Upon returning from a trip for landscapes and portraits made during his retirement, Apollinary Goravsky was awarded the title of academician of painting.

1865—1885

The artist settled in St. Petersburg, combining creativity and teaching: he taught at the St. Petersburg Drawing School under the Society for the Encouragement of Artists.

In the summer months, Goravsky traveled to his homeland, lived in Uborki and Brodets (now the Berezovsky district of the Minsk region), traveled to Polissya and the Pskov province, where he sought inspiration for his works.

1869

The Academy of Arts sent Goravsky on a trip to Ukraine, Belarus and Central Russia for three years.

From 1869

He took part in the activities of the Moscow Society of Art Lovers.

From 1874

Exhibited in the St. Petersburg Society for Exhibitions of Artistic Works.

1880

Acquired the Kirillovichi estate near Pskov.

1885–1886

The artist made a trip to Siberia, visited Irkutsk.

March 28th, 1900

The artist died in St. Petersburg.
