Photo Gallery"MIR PHOTO"

2004
st. Pritytskogo 10

The museum-gallery was opened on September 30, 2004 with the title exhibition "From the history of photography in Belarus". The exposition brought together works by more than 70 authors and covered the period from 1862 (the first mention of photography in Belarus) to 1989, the year of the 150th anniversary of photography. Simultaneously with photography exhibitions, the museum-gallery displayed an exposition of dozens of rare models of cameras collected by a well-known collector, Company director Viktor Suglob. Such a museum remained the only one of its kind in the territory of the countries of the former USSR.

Mir PHOTO has become one of the few Belarusian galleries that specializes in working with photography. Since the opening of the gallery, several dozen exhibitions have taken place in its hospitable walls, including the author's collections of recognized masters of photography: Vitaly Butyrin (Lithuania), Toshiki Ozawa (Japan), Valdis Brauns (Latvia), Valery Fedorenko, Oleg Yarovenko, Vladimir Bazan (Belarus) and many others.

The curator of the exhibition was Yury Vasiliev, the only Belarusian photographer who received the title of Honored Worker of Culture of Belarus.
