Imitation

Alexei Kuzmich (junior) 2021
April 1, 2021. Paris

Author's comment:

Discourse on the monopoly on violence and the (im)possibility of revolution. The action was implemented at the Elysee Palace - the residence of French President Emmanuel Macron. It consists of three parts: a video prologue, a letter to the President and an exit to his residence.

Note:

The photographers who documented my action were detained along with me. The police tried to make us into a group of persons under the article “Intentional violence with the use of weapons”. We were taken to the criminal police, after which the anti-terrorist brigade took up the case. The photographers' homes were searched and pressured with threats and intimidation that continued after their release from custody. For two months, I could not get photos from the action from them, because. they were afraid of publishing them and re-bringing them to justice - as the law enforcement agencies promised them, who tried with all their might to neutralize my action, including the confiscation of photographs and intimidation of journalists trying to interview me. The media controlled by the authorities, for some reason having access to the protocols of interrogation, tried to discredit me and the photographers by presenting information to readers in the key and image they needed, resorting, among other things, to shifting emphasis and reversing meanings.

This is a very important part of the action, confirming the viability of the concept of "Imitation". Through the suppression of freedom of creative expression and dissemination of information, it exposes the repressive mechanisms of democratic France, covered with a veil of freedom and humanism, which are similar to the mechanics of authoritarian Belarus. Thanks to this, it is possible to detect the synchronism and similarity of political models that are opposed to each other and declared as radically different and even opposing.

So is the warning issued by the prosecutor, which at first glance completely relieves me of any responsibility for the action, but in fact acts as a suspended sentence. In accordance with it, within 5 years I can be detained and convicted if I continue to engage in art.

Translation of the author's letter to French President Emmanuel Macron translated into Russian:

Today I came to make a revolution.

I know that love and forgiveness will overcome brute force. Flowers are more powerful than bullets and clubs. An appeal to conscience will destroy the prison. And peace will come. Justice will prevail.

Stop... Haven't you died of laughter yet? What about your sponsors? Yes, it's really comical to watch someone seriously think they can win without fighting. Like someone fooled by the neo-liberal tale of pacifism is playing by your ideological laws of servility. How can someone be so naive and stupid.

Let the French, the heirs of a great rebellious history, see the absurdity of such methods of resistance, the goodness of which your worldcentric propaganda cries out. Petitions against the clanging jaws of ruthless hyenas? Is this an imitation of protest? Is this not an insult to the illuminating force of the revolution?

At the stake of this deceit, a small country is burning in the center of Europe today with the flame of genocide. The most patient people in the world and the most evil bandits live in it. A country in which a seasoned terrorist and impostor who considers himself president seized power with his junta of jackals. Where, in response to the abomination of rapists, people, standing on a bench, take off their shoes.

“Love will conquer the beast!” shouted our national leaders, arming us for passivity. Lulled by the fables of liberal doctrines, we let out the pink snot of improbability. They called the monsters to conscience, not knowing that it was foreign to them. They accepted the morality of repression as a necessity. And the protest became a picnic. Molotov cocktails in our hands were seasoned with the love of daughters, wives and mothers. Every civilian was a living target of violence. And they sat in the cushy places of political tourists, commanding us to suffer. Pay with freedom. Sacrifice life.

France - the former model of democracy - is slipping into fascism, becoming like my homeland Belarus. Having monopolized the right to violence, you and your accomplice Lukashenka punish those who disagree. Each in his own pasture. Weakness is at your fingertips. Praise in the books of heroes that are beneficial to you, that teach the crowd to endure. You, the elites, who have settled behind the impregnable walls of the palaces, having pulled out our claws, sawed off our fangs, generously allowed us to wave banners into the void. Themselves from Olympus spit foolish laughter in their faces.

The pseudo-president taught you dictatorship. You kiss his bloody footprints trampled across Belarus, and you yourself hypocritically sing how you support freedom there. You yourself, Macron, are already a postmodern dictator - a cunning, deceitful, dodgy worm. Both of you are predatory animals, hungry for the crown.

In short, Emmanuel. You already know all this. I did not discover America here, let's get down to business. To become a truly powerful bloodsucker, on a par with Hitler, Stalin, Lenin or your friend Lukashenko, you need one important attribute, without which you are a son, not a lord. Mustache.

And let your mustachioed head fall from your shoulders, and roll along the Seine embankment. Like the head of the last French monarch.

A passionate kiss to you with Madame Guillotin.
