Forest’s Faces

Vasilisa Palianina 2020 – 2024
a series of ceramic objects and graphic

In the Forest's Faces project I explore the issue of acceptance. My creatures are new organisms that expand human perception from a psychological and social point of view. I was born in the USSR and raised in Belarus, a country that is currently an authoritarian state. The dominance of men over women, the infringement of the rights of sexual minorities and the attempt at total control over society is manifested in all spheres of public life. Such pressure forces people to carefully hide their real views, preferences and beliefs.

In my project, I propose to step out of the contours of the invisible, accept individuality and recognize the beauty in it.
