Selected events

"Limbo" captures the lives and emotional states of Ukrainian refugees living in a former public school in the Polish city of Wroclaw after the outbreak of war in 2022.

Initially, this shelter was designed to accommodate Ukrainian refugees for no more than two weeks, after which they would be given the opportunity to live in alternative accommodation either in Wroclaw or in another city in Poland and beyond. The continuation of the war led to a huge demand for housing, and since the end of summer, “temporary” residents of Grokhovaya, 13 are forced to live in a shelter permanently if they cannot find their own housing.

Staying in this shelter is a unique and dramatic moment. Time has frozen for its inhabitants, they are between heaven and earth, not knowing their fate, yearning for their loved ones and a speedy return home.
