Sculptor.

He worked in the field of easel plot composition, relief and monumental plastics. The influence of Belarusian folk wooden sculpture can be traced in the work.

Having a Russian origin, the formation and development of the art of Belarus is associated with the name of the sculptor. He was one of those who initiated the creation of the All-Belarusian Art Association and was its chairman.

The sculptor's works are kept in the National Art Museum of Belarus, the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, the State Museum of Urban Sculpture in St. Petersburg, and the Dnepropetrovsk Art Museum.

For more than 20 years he lived and worked in Minsk.

Born in the village of Grigorievka , Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (now Bashkortostan, Russia). Being engaged in drawing and modeling, he taught himself sculpture.

Later he studied at Petersburg University . He attended classes in the sculpture class of the Academy of Arts in Leningrad.

1918-1941

He taught natural science and drawing in the small town of Krasnopolye (now the district center of the Mogilev region, Republic of Belarus).

1920s

Moved to Minsk . He initiated the creation of the All-Belarusian Art Association and became its chairman.

1925

Since that time he has been a regular participant in art exhibitions .

1930s

He became a member of the Revolutionary Organization of Artists of Belarus .

1940

He was admitted to the Union of Artists of the BSSR (later the Belarusian Union of Artists).

1941

Moved to Moscow . He worked in the workshops of Vatagin, Manizer.

1942-1944

He served as chairman of the Union of Artists of the BSSR.
