The humanitarian and educational public association "Commonwealth of Polesie" proposed that the authorities of Pinsk and the local Council of Deputies name the city art school after Evgeniy Shatokhin. The initiative did not receive the support of officials. Representatives of the general public believe that the negative response from the authorities is due to the artist’s political views - he was a member of the leadership of the CCP-BPF.
