The corporate collection of OJSC "Belgazprombank" is a part and basis of the "Art-Belarus" project, which is a website and a gallery.
The goal of the project is to return the works of the representatives of the Parisian School, natives of Belarus, to the homeland of their creators, as well as to show the process of development of the culture of Belarus in its entirety and continuity. On the basis of the gallery, a cultural institution was formed, which, as a new legal entity, independently deals with creative and organizational issues . The gallery exhibits more than 50 masterpieces by famous natives of Belarus: Marc Chagall, Chaim Soutine, Leon Bakst, Ferdinand Ruschits, Osip Zadkine and others. The corporate collection of Belgazprombank includes more than 110 rarities. It is called the largest collection of works by expressionists of the Paris School not only in Belarus, but also in Eastern and Central Europe.
Victor Babariko emphasized: “It is not the fact of the physical return of artifacts to the country that is important, but the fact that six more undeservedly forgotten names have replenished our collection. And now, looking back at the thirty-year history of Belgazprombank, one can see that interaction with society and the development of cultural projects have always been a priority for us."
In 2020, due to the events in the country, 146 paintings of the Art-Belarus gallery were arrested. This caused great resentment in the cultural community. Two days after the incident, the Art-Belarus gallery opened with QR codes on the walls instead of paintings - everyone sent them to a site where they could see the work. On July 1, the performance "Property" was held here. About 20 cultural figures attached images of paintings to T-shirts and stood all day near the places where these paintings used to hang. The idea of the action belongs to Nadezhda Sayapina.
