Braids of protection and understanding were woven for us in our exile in new homes by host hands.

In bomb shelters, at train stations, in refugee shelters, and in foreign countries, we, again and again, wash each other's hair and weave braids of care.

Victims of repression and war, in our fragile structures of care, empathy, and sisterhood, we intertwine with our braids networks of resistance, united and strong in our weakness.
