Born on June 20, 1928 in the village of Chikalovichi (BSSR, now a village in the Gomel region, Republic of Belarus).

He graduated from the Kiev School of Applied Arts (now the Kiev State Institute of Arts and Crafts and Design named after Boychuk).

Graduated from Lviv State Institute of Decorative and Applied Arts (now Lviv National Academy of Arts).
1955-1960
He taught at the Republican Art School of Chisinau (Moldova).
1957
He was accepted as a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR .
1961
Came to Minsk at the invitation of Vladimir Stelmashonok at the All-Union Exhibition in Moscow. He headed the department of monumental and decorative art at the Belarusian State Theater and Art Institute (now the Belarusian State Academy of Arts).
1961-1997
He taught at the Belarusian State Theater and Art Institute.
1965
Received the academic title of Associate Professor .
1975-1995
He headed the department of monumental and decorative art .
1978
He was awarded the Certificate of Honor of the Supreme Council of the BSSR, and he was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the BSSR .

Vashchenko was recognized by the International Biographical Center of Cambridge as "Person of the Year" .
1993
Vashchenko was recognized by the International Biographical Center of Cambridge as a "Man of the 20th century" and was awarded a nominal silver medal.
1994
The American Biographical Institute Vashchenko was awarded the honorary title "Person of the Year" and presented with a nominal gold medal "Honor 2000" .
1995
He was awarded the Francysk Skorina medal and received the title of Academician of Painting of the NGO "Belarusian Academy of Fine Arts".
1999
He was elected a Fellow of the Board of Directors of the American Biographical Institute .
