Artist, teacher.

He became the founder of a special type of pictorial-epic and lyrical-heroic landscape in Belarusian art. Having created a cycle of works on military-historical and post-war themes at the beginning of his creative career, he found himself in landscape painting, which until the end of his life occupied a central place in his work.

Born in the village of Radeevo (now Buda-Koshelevsky district, Gomel region, Republic of Belarus) in a family of rural teachers.

The father of the future artist was fond of the work of Russian artists Perov, Repin, Kramskoy, the walls of the house were hung with reproductions of their works.

Soon the Tsvirko family moved to Minsk.

1929–1932

He studied at the Vitebsk Art College.

1935

He took part in an art exhibition in Moscow , the success of which led to admission to the Moscow Art Institute named after Surikov.

1942

He received a diploma of higher education in Samarkand, where the institute was evacuated during the Great Patriotic War.

1944

He returned to the capital of Belarus, where he was actively engaged in painting on military-historical and post-war subjects.

1946

He became a member of the Union of Artists of the BSSR (now the Republic of Belarus).

1947

He began teaching at the Minsk Art College, later at the Belarusian State Theater and Art Institute, where he first headed the department of painting, and later received the title of professor.

1958–1960

He served as rector of the Belarusian State Theater and Art Institute.

1961-1967

He was the secretary of the board of the Union of Artists of the USSR.

1962-1963

He was the chairman of the board of the Union of Artists of the BSSR (now the Republic of Belarus).

June 11, 1993

Died in Minsk.
