Readymade is a term that describes household items or objects of everyday use, taken out of their usual environment and placed in an art space (museum or gallery). The object chosen by the artist receives the status of a valuable work of art.

In the philosophy of artistic technique lies the idea of the creator Marcel Duchamp, who was the first to use the finished thing in the form of works of art, accompanied by a detailed description of the concept. The artist, without creating a new object, changed the concept of this object. This means that the artist turned his attention not to aesthetics, but to the completeness of the new meanings and meanings, initially unusual, of the object. And also asked the cultural community and the public the question “what is art?”.

It is important to note the importance of irony in changing the clichéd meaning. Duchamp proved that in order to create art it is possible to find ready-made forms of expression of one's ideas, which was a breakthrough in the space of fine art and the laws of aesthetics.

By acquiring a conceptual function, a readymade, it pushed the boundaries of the possibilities of art and asked new questions, and also became the starting point for installation, happening and performance.
