Episode 5. Museum and Migration: Distance, Connection and Adaptation
The fifth issue of – part of the eponymous initiative to create an open public museum of contemporary art of Belarus – was released today on the Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts and Castbox platforms.
In the fifth episode of the OM podcast, we explore the role of museums and cultural institutions in supporting artists with migration experience. Interdisciplinary artist , as well as curator Maria Beburia and culture worker, performer Taras Gembik – co-founders of SDK Słonecznik and the Blizkist collective in Warsaw were guests of the edition. Together, we discussed the challenges faced by creators while adapting to new cultural contexts, and how to support each other in emigration and continue to maintain a connection with the homeland from a distance. Curator and art manager also took part in the episode and visual artist .
