Exhibition ZBOR In Progress in Minsk

On October 16, a large-scale exhibition-research of the history of contemporary art in Belarus over the past 30 years will open at the Ў Modern Art Gallery in Minsk.

is an exhibition project based on the research activities of the platform, which was created by a group of artists and curators in 2014 to study and preserve the latest processes and trends in contemporary art in Belarus and which subsequently led to an online collection of the latest Belarusian art. During the selection of works, the main task was to identify the most important trends and the widest possible presentation of the strategies used in their own work by Belarusian artists of different generations. The online collection is based on more than 150 works, selected after a survey of 35 specialists in the field of contemporary Belarusian art: artists, art critics, journalists, critics. And for the ZBOR exhibition project, 40 works were selected from these works by the expert council of the KALEKTAR platform.

In 2015, the Polish gallery Arsenal (Bialystok, Poland) hosted the first exhibition " ", curated by and . In the spring of 2016, and presented their curatorial concept " " at the Ukrainian Izolyatsia Foundation. The Kiev exposition was included in the TOP-10 exhibitions of contemporary art in Eastern and Central Europe according to Art Guide East.

The Minsk exhibition will present a wide section of contemporary Belarusian art over the past 30 years and covers the work of more than fifty Belarusian artists who live and work both in the country and abroad.

The exhibition contains more than two hundred exhibits: documentary photographs, research essays, as well as original works by Belarusian artists created in the period from the late 80s of the last century to the present day. A significant part of the exposition is occupied by a large media presentation containing original video works by more than twenty authors, rare documentary video materials of performances and art actions, as well as unique reconstructions of installations on a scale of 1:1. The accompanying program of the project will include meetings with artists and project curators, lectures, discussions and curatorial tours of the exposition for adults and children.
