Born in Lvov (Austria-Hungary, now Ukraine).

He was educated at the Prague Academy of Arts in architecture, decorative and applied arts . He also studied at the Warsaw School of Fine Arts, at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and Lvov.
1920
Moved to Minsk .
1922
Since that time, he has been the chief artist of the current Yanka Kupala National Academic Theater. During the war years, together with the Kupala Theater, he was evacuated to the city of Uralsk.
1941
A couple of days before the start of the war, an exhibition of the artist's works opened in Minsk . The occupiers completely removed Marix's paintings to Germany. To date, not a single painting from the stolen exhibition has been found. The artist's library was also taken out. Part - with bookplates by Marix - returned from Germany during the life of the artist.
1953
He worked as the chief artist of the Grodno Regional Drama Theatre.
1961
Was awarded the title of People's Artist of the BSSR .
June 24, 1976
Died in Minsk.
