Born in the village of Oktyabr (BSSR, now the village of Khatavichi, Logoisk district, Minsk region, Republic of Belarus).
He graduated from secondary school No. 2 of the city of Dzerzhinsk (Minsk region).
1972
He began to take part in art exhibitions.
1976
Graduated from the Belarusian State Theater and Art Institute (now the Belarusian State Academy of Arts). His thesis work - the design of the book by Vincent Dunin-Martsinkevich "Pinsk gentry" - was awarded a diploma from the Academy of Arts of the USSR.
1978
Became a member of the Belarusian Union of Artists.
1990
He received the title of Honored Art Worker of the Republic of Belarus.
2009
Was awarded the title of Honorary Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts.
2007–2013
He served as chairman of the Belarusian Union of Artists.
1989–2000
He was the head of the Department of Crafts at the Belarusian State Academy of Arts. For many years he has been teaching at the academy.

Received a professor's degree.
