As part of the ZBOR project, we are announcing our first large-scale research exhibition "ZBOR. Constructing an Archive", which will be held at the Arsenal Gallery in Bialystok.

The exhibition "ZBOR. Constructing an Archive " is the result of the activity of the research platform of contemporary Belarusian art KALEKTAR . At the beginning of 2015, the ZBOR resource was launched on the kalektar.org portal – a journal-archive about the programmatic works of Belarusian artists, groups and institutions, as well as significant phenomena of contemporary art in Belarus.

The exhibition presents a cross-section of the artistic experience of Belarusian contemporary art from the 1980s to the present day, in the form of 40 selected works, as well as their short descriptions and reproductions. All the works chosen for the exhibition are one of the key statements that determined, to one degree or another, the development of various areas of Belarusian contemporary art. The curators of the project and the invited expert council have collected the works in such a way as to demonstrate the artistic strategies of several generations of artists in the most voluminous way, as well as record the key cultural and political events in Belarus.
