"The Form group appeared in 1987. The name was proposed by Valery Martynchik. The main and very first line-up was as follows: Valery Martynchik, Viktor Petrov, Vladimir Bobrov, Gennady Khatskevich (at the time Form was created, he was in a prison psycho-isolator), Vladimir Lappo, Sergey Noodles. Later, two people from the Galina group, led by Alexander Taranovich, joined the group: Dmitry Ermilov, Andrey Belov. Still later, I invited Alexander Zabavchik to the group, and Valentin Nudnov was the last to enter. This was the Forma group " .

"The Form association includes artists who differ both in age and in their creative aspirations, but what undeniably unites all artists is the conviction that the development of art is to a large extent the development of form. Hence the name of the association, which It was also a reaction to that many years of struggle between dogmatic art and the so-called “formalism.” The formation of the association should be attributed to the autumn of 1987, when a group of unofficial artists was invited to an exhibition in the Estonian city of Kohtla-Järve, followed by an exhibition in the State Museum of the ESSR “Kadriorg” in Tallinn, an exhibition in Minsk and again in Estonia within the framework of the All-Union seminar on unofficial art, which took place in Narva in May 1988.
