Antonina Slobodchikova works extensively with the theme of death and fear, often including human hair, found objects and ritual symbols in her installations and objects. But her works are also characterized by humor and an ironic view of reality. Collage and the use of popular media images are distinctive techniques for many of the artist’s works, which she uses in the creation of her own books, objects, installations and urban interventions.
